Who has believed our message\u00a0<\/span>and to whom has the arm\u00a0of the\u00a0<\/span>Lord<\/span>\u00a0been revealed?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>He grew up before him like a tender shoot,\u00a0<\/span>and like a root\u00a0out of dry ground.<\/span><\/em><\/span>
\nHe had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,\u00a0<\/span>nothing in his appearance\u00a0that we should desire him.<\/span><\/em><\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>He was despised and rejected by mankind,\u00a0<\/span>a man of suffering,\u00a0and familiar with pain.<\/span><\/em><\/span>
\nLike one from whom people hide\u00a0their faces\u00a0<\/span>he was despised,\u00a0and we held him in low esteem.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Surely he took up our pain\u00a0<\/span>and bore our suffering,\u00a0<\/span>yet we considered him punished by God,\u00a0<\/span>stricken by him, and afflicted.\u00a0<\/span>But he was pierced\u00a0for our transgressions,\u00a0<\/span>he was crushed\u00a0for our iniquities;\u00a0<\/span>the punishment\u00a0that brought us peace\u00a0was on him,\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>and by his wounds\u00a0we are healed.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>We all, like sheep, have gone astray,\u00a0<\/span>each of us has turned to our own way;\u00a0<\/span>and the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0has laid on him\u00a0<\/span>the iniquity\u00a0of us all.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/span>He was oppressed\u00a0and afflicted,\u00a0<\/span>yet he did not open his mouth;\u00a0<\/span>he was led like a lamb\u00a0to the slaughter,\u00a0<\/span>and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,\u00a0<\/span>so he did not open his mouth.<\/span><\/em><\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>By oppression\u00a0\u00a0and judgment\u00a0he was taken away.\u00a0<\/span>Yet who of his generation protested?<\/span><\/em><\/span>
\nFor he was cut off from the land of the living;\u00a0<\/span>for the transgression\u00a0of my people he was punished.\u00a0<\/span>He was assigned a grave with the wicked,\u00a0<\/span>and with the rich\u00a0in his death,\u00a0<\/span>though he had done no violence,\u00a0<\/span>nor was any deceit in his mouth.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Yet it was the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u2019s will\u00a0to crush\u00a0him and cause him to suffer,\u00a0<\/span>and though the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0makes\u00a0his life an offering for sin,\u00a0<\/span>he will see his offspring\u00a0and prolong his days,\u00a0<\/span>and the will of the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0will prosper\u00a0in his hand.\u00a0<\/span>
\n<\/span>After he has suffered,\u00a0<\/span>he will see the light\u00a0of life\u00a0\u00a0and be satisfied;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>by his knowledge\u00a0my righteous servant\u00a0will justify\u00a0many,\u00a0<\/span>and he will bear their iniquities.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and he will divide the spoils\u00a0with the strong,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>because he poured out his life unto death,\u00a0<\/span>and was numbered with the transgressors.<\/span><\/em><\/span>
\nFor he bore\u00a0the sin of many,\u00a0<\/span>and made intercession\u00a0for the transgressors.- Isaiah 53<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
