After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene\u00a0and the other Mary\u00a0went to look at the tomb.\u00a0There was a violent earthquake,\u00a0for an angel\u00a0of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone\u00a0and sat on it.\u00a0His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.\u00a0The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.<\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The angel said to the women, \u201cDo not be afraid,\u00a0for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.\u00a0He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.<\/strong>\u00a0Come and see the place where he lay.\u00a0Then go quickly and tell his disciples: \u2018He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.There you will see him.\u2019 Now I have told you.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.\u00a0Suddenly Jesus met them.\u00a0\u201cGreetings,\u201d\u00a0he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.\u00a0Then Jesus said to them,\u00a0\u201cDo not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers\u00a0to go to Galilee; there they will see me.\u201d – Matthew 28:1-10<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

But because of his great love for us,\u00a0God, who is rich in mercy,\u00a0<\/span>made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions\u2014it is by grace you have been saved.\u00a0<\/span>And God raised us up with Christ\u00a0and seated us with him\u00a0in the heavenly realms\u00a0in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace,\u00a0expressed in his kindness\u00a0to us in Christ Jesus.\u00a0For it is by grace\u00a0you have been saved,\u00a0through faith\u2014and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God –\u00a0<\/strong>not by works,\u00a0so that no one can boast.<\/strong>\u00a0For we are God\u2019s handiwork,\u00a0created\u00a0in Christ Jesus to do good works,\u00a0which God prepared in advance for us to do.<\/span><\/em>\u00a0–\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Ephesians 2:4-9<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
