\u201cBe productive because God is productive\u201d these words blinked at me in an early morning stare thanks to my computer. They were in the subject line of an email. On opening it there was nothing \u2013 just those 6 little power packed words staring back at me. Oh well, something glitched again. Ok\u2026 now what?<\/span><\/p>\n

I went on with my morning, washing clothes, dishes, folding, packing, ordering meds from the pharmacy, reading email, checking FB, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Didn\u2019t think anything more until this afternoon. Yup, you are right I went back and checked it again to see if there was any change, a clue, something\u2026. Nada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just those same six words staring at me.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I have to do something, right?<\/span><\/p>\n

Aaaaand, my brain goes into overdrive!<\/span><\/p>\n

First discover the meaning, is it a request or a command?<\/span><\/p>\n

A trick or genuine? A mistake or word from\u2026..?<\/span><\/p>\n

What do I do with it? Am I reading more into it than is meant?<\/span><\/p>\n

My head is spinning!<\/span><\/p>\n

In the end, I take it as a challenge- a word from God. He talks to me like this every now and then and I\u2019ve discovered if I don\u2019t listen, I\u2019m usually sorry- for a long time. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And\u2026even though creation was a very long, long time ago\u2026 and I\u2019m in the here and now, I\u2019m pretty sure that God is still productive each and every day.<\/span><\/p>\n

So if I\u2019m supposed to be productive because He is productive, how is that going to happen, what must be done to accomplish it?<\/span><\/p>\n

Does it mean I\u2019m to be reading and sharing? Putting what I read into practice?<\/span><\/p>\n

Does it mean I\u2019m to be listening for the next instruction?<\/span><\/p>\n

Does it mean that I\u2019m to just go about my business and do my best?<\/span><\/p>\n

Just what is that anyway?<\/span><\/p>\n

I went out and found the post on the website that was connected to the email. And, I was right, this was a command to me! I have vacillated between \u201cproducing\u201d something to sell on my website.<\/span><\/p>\n

You know,t hat moment where the thought appears out of nowhere: \u201cTo commercialize or not to commercialize- that is the question!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

My husband\u2019s first thought was:\u00a0\u201cYes, commercialize\u201d bring in some income. It\u2019s honest work. You can do that.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0My first thought was:\u00a0\u201cNo, I can\u2019t do that. It would be demeaning in some way to acquire funds from friends who read. And besides God wouldn\u2019t want me to gain from discussing my life with Him.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

So I\u2019ve been balancing on that pasture fence I\u2019ve been on for some time. Maybe from fear, from disdain, or from the honest possibility that whatever I chose to do would flop in my face.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now I pray.<\/span><\/p>\n
