I usually don\u2019t read Lisa-Jo\u2019s post before I write mine just so I won\u2019t be influenced by greatness.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">But, not sure of the usage I thought I\u2019d read a line or two to see if I could figure it out.\u00a0 She used it in the meaning of proximity. I was actually thinking of the meaning \u201cto shut or end\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">So, onward and upward\u2026 I recently closed one season of my life and opened a new season. It happened as quickly and surely as it happens when one reaches the end of a book. The last line is read and\u00a0 \u201cThe End\u201d pops up and voila, you\u2019re done.\u00a0 Book closed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The season where I was employed, working full time, in a place of authority and responsibility closed abruptly when I made the decision to retire. Most of the people contributing here are still in the babes in diapers season of their lives. And, that\u2019s ok. But I\u2019m past that except as a grandmother.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Retirement involved a lot of closing. Closing my desk, my office, my email account, and my professional address with professional organizations among other things.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Now, some of that may seem like a sad or glad experience depending on perspective. But, what I\u2019ve found is that when one season closes another opens. We all know this but to experience it, say, like an empty nest when the last birdie flies, there\u2019s a tangibly felt door closing on our faces.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0I have found that close is a good thing. A completion. A finish. An end.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">And a beginning!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000080;\"><strong><em>\u2026being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0Philippians 1:6<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">I&#8217;m adding my 5 minutes to all those who write for the same 5 minutes at Lisa-Jo Baker&#8217;s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Close That\u2019s the prompt.
