I have begun to count the weeks by Fridays- the days we write, spontaneously, deeply, shallowly, eloquently, plainly. We just write what we\u2019re given on one word.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The word this week is:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Release<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">That old country song is running in my head now- \u201c<em>Please Release Me<\/em>\u201d. Funny how words pop up memories like that. Things that were pent up and sealed can suddenly surface and take us back to that moment in time in a split second.\u00a0 We can smile or a tear come to our eye before we send those things back to where they came from. Not a bad thing to walk memory lane a while.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Unless&#8212; those things are something we hold onto with iron grips. When that happens, we become slaves to what we are holding; subject to whatever whim those thoughts bring.\u00a0 But when we release our grip, we open our hand, we say, \u201cIt\u2019s always been Yours Lord\u201d we find that\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>we<\/em><\/span>\u00a0are the thing that is released.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Wherever you find yourself today, whether it\u2019s resisting the toddler independence or the teen-adult leaving the nest, the first sign of gray hair, holding the heavy burden of desire for life to be like it once was, the sorrow when someone is no longer here- He Knows. He will take that burden when we lay it down and we will find sweet release.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000080;\"><em><strong><span style=\"position: relative; font-size: 16px; line-height: normal; background-color: #ffffff;\">My eyes are ever on the\u00a0<span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Lord<\/span>,<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: normal; background-color: #ffffff;\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 16px; line-height: normal; background-color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-size: 0.42em; line-height: 0;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"position: relative;\">for only he will release my feet from the snare.
